“Singapore Cycle Safe Programme Trainer’s Course” by Singapore Cycling Federation (SCF) (For All Coaches)
This course equips participants with the skills necessary to conduct the Singapore Cycle Safe Programme (Levels 1 to 4). The programme, developed by Mr Samuel Yang (current SCF Sport and Technical Manager and former national cyclist), aims to teach practical cycling skills and traffic safety awareness through educational talks and practical sessions to school children and working adults.
The course conductor will be Mr Azhar Yusof (Senior Lecturer (Physical Education & Sports Science (PESS)), National Institute of Education (NIE)), supported by a programme team comprising:
Mr Mahipal Singh (General Manager, SCF)
Mr Samuel Yang (Sport and Technical Manager, SCF)
The course perquisites are:
Bachelor of Education OR Bachelor of Sports Science and/or Coaching certification from any sport (minimum Level 1)
Able to demonstrate basic competency in riding a bicycle safely through a 10m straight line course
Age 18 years and above
Valid Standard First Aid certification
Participants who do not meet the above prerequisites are welcomed to attend, however he/she will only be assessed and certified to deliver educational safety talks.

Day 1 (Competency Demonstration)
20 November 2015 (Friday), 10am – 11am
Day 2 (Theory & Practical)
23 November 2015 (Monday), 8am – 6pm
Day 3 (Theory, Practical & Assessments)
24 November 2015 (Tuesday), 8am – 6pm
Assessments will include planning and executing a practical skill session and educational talk on safe cycling, as well as a 30-hour practical attachment (post-course) and a theory examination.
All course participants are required to bring along their own bicycle, bicycle helmet, covered footwear and cycling attire on all course days.
