Goalball for All – A Sharing Session by Coach Development Grant (CDG) Recipient Hansen Bay

(For All NROC Coaches)

Description

At this workshop, Coach Development Grant (CDG) recipient Mr Hansen Bay will be sharing his learning experience from his overseas coaching attachment as the New South Wales (NSW) Men’s and Youth Assistant Team Coach for 2018 Australian Goalball Championships in October 2018.

This workshop will be divided into 2 parts as follows. Participants should be dressed in track pants as there is a practical segment in this workshop:

  • Part 1: Sharing about the Australian Goalball Championships. Specifically, how we can model after this unified competition to teach values associated with inclusion at schools
  • Part 2: Hands-on session where teachers and coaches will learn how to organise and teach the fundamentals of Lead Up™ Goalball – a modified version of the original Paralympic game to teach this exciting game to beginners

About the Presenter

This workshop will be conducted by Mr Hansen Bay. Hansen is the current National Coach for Men’s and Women’s Goalball teams and he is also an International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Coach Educator. He has academic background and work experience in physical education and sports psychology.
