Singapore, 11 June 2013 - The Singapore Sports Awards (SSA) represents our country’s most prestigious and exclusive recognition for our sports talents each year. The SSA honours the outstanding sporting achievements of sportsmen and sportswomen in both national and international competition. It also gives due recognition to sporting partners that work hard behind the scenes to help shape Sporting Singapore.

Mr Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information, graced the event as Guest-of-Honour.

Mr Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister for Home Affairs, and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council, as well as Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Acting Minister for Manpower, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of National Development, and Member of the Singapore National Olympic Council were also present.
