Singapore, 25 January 2026 –The ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee was officially opened this morning by Senior Minister and Adviser to Ang Mo Kio GRC GROs, Lee Hsien Loong. Located on the former Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex site, the rejuvenated facility offers thoughtfully designed amenities that promote active living and inclusiveness, enhance accessibility, and serve Singapore's sporting and recreational needs across all ages and abilities.
The innovative transformation of the former single-use swimming complex into a multi-functional Sport Park demonstrates Sport Singapore’s (SportSG) commitment to maximising land use, while expanding community access to sport. With a wider range of facilities now housed within a single site, the ActiveSG Sport Park provides the community with more opportunities to stay active and build healthier habits together.
Key features include a sheltered multi-generational pool designed to support low-impact physical activity, rehabilitation, and relaxation. The pool incorporates sensory elements including a jacuzzi and a sensory trail, with ample resting benches. These features were developed in collaboration with the Singapore University of Social Sciences to promote inclusive use across different age groups and abilities, with ramp access further enhancing accessibility for all users.
The Sport Park also features a calming pod — a first for a local sporting facility — designed to provide a dedicated, low-stimulation space for individuals with special needs who need a quiet and safe environment for self-regulation. This reflects an inclusive approach to community well-being.

The public will also have access to more quality sporting facilities, including a 1,000 square-metre gym with conventional and inclusive strength-training equipment such as the HUR machines. These machines use pneumatic technology (air pressure) and lever arms instead of traditional weights, supporting safe, accessible workouts for seniors, persons with disabilities, and those with mobility concerns. Other facilities include a gym activity room, sheltered futsal court, two multi-sport courts, water play area and a 3x3 basketball court, offering accessible shared spaces that encourage community activity.
Mr Tan Hock Leong, Chief, ActiveSG, Sport Singapore, said, “The opening of ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee reflects how we are reimagining neighbourhood sport spaces to support active living. Designed to be accessible and welcoming to all, the Sport Park offers quality facilities that residents of different ages and abilities can use comfortably in their daily routines. With ActiveSG Credits, the community can also enjoy these facilities affordably, lowering barriers to participation and encouraging more Singaporeans to embrace an active lifestyle.”
The rejuvenation of ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee is part of SportSG’s Sports Facilities Master Plan (SFMP), which aims to bring innovative, accessible, and affordable sporting facilities within a 10-minute walk of most homes by 2030. Through this ongoing effort, Singapore’s sport infrastructure continues to be enhanced to better serve communities inclusively.
A resident of Ang Mo Kio, Ms Juliet Ong said, “The most interesting part of the ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee is the multi-generational pool that is sheltered. Overall, I find the activities offered here are very good and it caters to all age groups. I am deeply appreciative of the care and thought the government has put into meeting the needs of the community.”
