Fostering National Pride – Team Singapore Camp, 1 & 2 November

In preparing the Team Singapore (TS) contingent for 28th SEA Games, the Singapore Sports Institute (SSI) recognised the importance of developing a greater team camaraderie amongst the athletes and to instil a greater sense of pride and identity as ‘Team Singapore’. Over a period of 2 days from 1-2 November 2014, the National Athletes, facilitated by STADA consultants and with the generous assistance of Deloitte, went through an exploration of personal awareness of his/her personal story for the Games, to a greater social awareness that they are standing on the shoulders of past giants in the larger story of Singapore sports; that their personal stories are part of the larger story of Singapore sports; and eventually to acknowledge that they are stewards of the Team Singapore’s sporting legacy.
