Conference Synopsis
Coaches form a key part of Singapore’s sporting ecosystem where they impart important life skills to our children and youth and ensures equal opportunities for all to access and enjoy the benefits of sport. More than technical mentors, coaches are critical to a participant’s physical, mental and emotional development and their professional development remains a key focus in Vision 2030 Recharged.
In light of Singapore’s Bicentennial year, this year’s conference will build on the message of “Coaching Better Every Day” with a focus on the sporting fraternity being future ready. Hence, the title - “Coaching Better Every Day: Shaping the Future”.
Centred around the broad themes of Openness, Inclusiveness and Self-Determination, topics will be further unpacked through the lenses of Coaches Pedagogy & Professionalism, Inclusion & Differentiation and Sport Science & Technology to explore how we can further our coaches’ capacity, capability and potential for innovation. The two-day conference programme will include keynote addresses, panel discussions on key topics and break-out sessions.
The keynote speakers will include Brendan Spillane, an acclaimed Australian educator, speaker and coach, who has a wealth of experience working with a range of corporate and sporting organisations as well as with education providers, systems and professional associations.
