Our Personal Development Programme seeks to develop our athletes to be ‘Athlete Ambassadors’ for Team Singapore -- who can inspire fellow Singaporeans to live better through sport, thereby building deeper connections and forging greater affinity with the larger community.
Our Athlete Ambassador Programme seeks to teach athlete-related skills which will help them to fulfill their role as an ‘Athlete Ambassador’ for Team Singapore. We currently run the following workshops to develop our Athlete Ambassadors:
- Media Training
- Public Speaking and Communication skills
- Professional Decorum and Networking skills
How our athletes have benefitted:
Shakir used his training as an Athlete Ambassador to inspire students at Kent Ridge Secondary School with his sporting stories.
How Shakir has benefitted:
- Media Training and Public Speaking workshops have helped him deliver his core messages and share his story in an engaging manner with an audience
- Opportunities to connect with the community through the Athlete Speakers Programme, allowing him to reach out to and inspire young students and aspiring athletes
"As an ambassador for sports, I have the opportunity to engage with youths, to inspire and motivate them. The public speaking and media training programmes conducted by SSI helped me to identify my strengths and weaknesses in these areas. Giving a talk on stage to nearly 1,000 students as part of the Athlete Speakers Programme was an awesome experience!"
