'Differentiation and Inclusion – Concepts in Training Design to Enhance Development of Sports Skills' by CoachSG and National Youth Sports Institute (NYSI)

(For All NROC Coaches)

Many coaches often assume or think that their athletes are homogenous; that they have similar abilities and experiences, and similar levels of motivation, to name a few. The reality is that each and every one of them is unique and hence the contemporary movement towards an athlete-driven coaching pedagogy. Successful coaches are those who recognise these unique characteristics and design activities that are inclusive, catering to those differences through differentiation. This way, every athlete regardless of abilities, can be appropriately challenged and therefore developed optimally in that same activity. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the concept of differentiation and be given opportunities to design differentiated activities for their sport.

About the Presenter

This workshop will be conducted by Mr Mohammed Azhar Bin Yusof (Assistant Head (Teaching) and Senior Lecturer (Physical Education & Sports Science, National Institute of Education (NIE)).
