Title

Assessment of Performance in Team Sports

Description

Lee Smith implemented a programme that promotes a decision making/problem solving model that encourages self-empowerment in achieving success. In this workshop, Lee will share the game planning application of the programme that generates a strategic plan that is unique to the strengths, weaknesses and needs of the particular person, team or organisation. So, while the process is constant, its application creates diversity based on the relevant profile to optimise performance.

Background of the speaker

This workshop will be conducted by Lee Smith who is currently a Performance Consultant for Asian Rugby Union, Korean Rugby Union, Chinese Taipei Rugby Union, Waikato Rugby Union, North Harbour Rugby Union, Manakau Rugby Union (Counties) and Thames Valley Rugby Union. He was formerly the Director of Coaching for the New Zealand Rugby Union and Director of Development World Rugby in Dublin, Ireland. He also wrote the Coaching Manuals for NZU and IRB.

Lee has worked successfully with a number of high profile, performance driven teams, including:
  • All Blacks
  • Hurricanes in the Super 15 competition
  • National teams at all levels in the Pacific Islands, especially Fiji, Samoa and Tonga
