Title:  How to Taper and Peak for Optimal Performance 
This session will provide the coaches with the most relevant, in-depth information necessary to understand and plan their peaking strategies for major competitions, by analysing the present knowledge about tapering design, its physiological consequences and related nutritional and environmental factors. The potential applications of tapering strategies to team sports will also be covered, discussing league competition situations and peaking for a major championship.

Dr Inigo Mujika is a leading expert in the areas of peaking and tapering. He is now Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country, Associate Researcher at Finis Terrae University in Chile, and Associate Editor for the International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance.
