Accredited Standard First Aid Courses
During the course of coaching, there could be incidences of emergency or injury, it is essential that coaches are trained in the knowledge and skills in Standard First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and usage of Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This will better prepare coaches for emergency situations and manage the risks involved in sports coaching.
Sport Singapore requires all NROC-registered coaches to have a valid Standard First Aid certificate. The minimum number of hours spent on the Standard First Aid course should not be less than 21 hours long with a theoretical examination and practical assessment including AED, CPR and bandaging of wounds.

The above list was updated on 12 January 2016 and will be effective till 31 December 2017.
Please note that Standard First Aid (SFA), CPR and AED courses (including refresher courses) will NOT be awarded CCE hours as these are considered standard requirement for coaches.
Sport Singapore has appointed the National First Aid Council (NFAC) to accredit the Standard First Aid Courses by various training centres for the coaches in the National Registry of Coaches. The objective of this process is to ensure they have met the requirements for training facilities and training standards. We regret that we will not be able to accredit other first aid courses in view of the different course content and contextualization.
The application for accreditation of training centres in 2018/2019 will be available from mid 2017 onwards. Please email NFAC Secretariat at email@example.com if you require any information related to Standard First Aid.
