Volunteer Management

Sports volunteers bring a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, fresh perspective and dedication to sporting events, and they are a valuable resource for Sporting Singapore.

As a key recommendation under the Vision 2030 sports master plan, the Volunteer Management Department aims to raise the quality of sports volunteering experience through a holistic and structured Sports Volunteer Framework.

The Sports Volunteer Framework seeks to develop sport volunteerism to strengthen communities and people, while instilling more deeply a spirit and passion for volunteerism among Singaporeans.

Working together with sports volunteers and other stakeholders, it will build an integrated network comprising the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, welfare organisations, sports event owners and other partners to better co-ordinate volunteer development and mobilisation efforts island-wide.

The Framework will look into areas such as volunteer recruitment, opportunities, learning and growth, recognition and the continuous engagement of sports volunteers via a comprehensive and versatile Volunteer Management System. It will create meaningful and inspiring experiences for volunteers through structured learning and development and a better match of opportunities to volunteer skill sets and interests. This will ultimately build a competent and committed volunteer workforce that is capable of delivering high quality service to client groups and the public, thereby living better through sport.
