Some of the major sports events organized by the Government to promote a sporting culture and to “build a rugged society” in those early independence years are featured in this segment.

• Grand Prix

  

  It was one of Singapore's major sporting attractions. The name changed to Singapore Grand Prix in 1966 after Singapore attained its independence.
