Safe Return to Sport - Using Functional Movement Screening Tool

(For All NROC Coaches)

As we look to #BringSportBack, there is a need to assess our athletes’ fitness and conditioning levels as they return to the rigours of training and competition. This is especially important as many sports training have been disrupted or discontinued for an extended period last year due to Covid-19 Programmes need to be designed appropriately otherwise we risk our athletes getting injured and that in turn has other implications and consequences.

In this practical workshop, participants would be:

  1. Introduced to the Functional Movement Screening (FMS) as a tool to assess an athlete’s level of conditioning and readiness to return to training
  2. Taught to use the screening results to design their training programmes that will enable the athletes to achieve improved performance safely
