ISA Certificate in Exercise Prescription for Special Populations (Youth, Elderly and Pregnant)

(For All NROC Coaches)

Description

Physical activity is important in youths, elderly and pregnant women to promote health and fitness. This workshop will prepare participants with the exercise prescription guidelines and recommendations for the respective populations. Special considerations during training will also be covered for the respective populations. The exercise guidelines and recommendations taught in this workshop will be presented using the frequency, intensity, time, and type (FITT) principle, which are core components of an exercise prescription.

About the Presenter

This course is conducted by Ms Razeenah Begum. Ms Razeenah was awarded the Bachelor of Science (Sport Science) from the University of Western Australia (UWA) and earned her Specialist Diploma in Healthy Ageing and Community Care for Seniors from Republic Polytechnic (RP). She is also a qualified nurse under the Singapore Nursing Board and has obtained her professional certifications as a Rehab Trainer accredited by the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

Razeenah has conducted various health talks, workshops, seminars and roadshows demonstrations for the schools and community that targets youth. She has worked closely with youth athletes from the Home United Football Club as a Sports Trainer where she implemented rehab training programmes and provided exercise prescription to conduct appropriate corrective exercises. She was also a Swim Instructor at Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive where she designed appropriate strength and conditioning programmes and customised training activities based on the children’s abilities. With her previous stint as a student health advisor, Razeenah relates well among students and this has enabled her to cater her teaching to student of different abilities while consistently motivating them to achieve their fullest potential.
